Harvest

The Feed Dayton Urban Farming Program is a new organization that will be growing high nutrition produce to be delivered to the local agencies that feed people who are going through difficult times. A secondary goal of Feed Dayton is to help people get established as urban farmers as well as to help any resident who wishes to start a highly productive, low maintenance garden in their back yard.

Harvest For a Share

As part of our plan for success, Feed Dayton will be engaging residents of low to moderate income communities to help us harvest the crops we grow, in exchange for being able to keep a portion of what is picked.

For example, registered participants in this program would be able to drop by one of our farm locations and spend a few minutes picking ten pounds of collard greens . . . and be able to keep two pounds of the leaves to take home for their family’s evening meal. Pick 1000 pounds and keep 200 . . . to freeze for year round greens!

To gauge community interest for a program such as this, we would like to ask you a few simple questions.
